There is only one thing that can beat the feeling of flying down the trail on an ATV: flying down the trail on an ATV that you’ve made your own. ATV owners love to customize their rides to look every bit as good as they ride, often getting very creative in expressing themselves. We here at Exxxtreme Cycles want to encourage this creativity wherever we can, so we’ve put together some tips for ATV customization in order to help inspire you.

Paint & Decals

If you want to personalize your ATV’s appearance but don’t want to get too complicated with it, something as simple as a new coat of paint or a decal can still make a huge difference. Maybe there is a color or a set of colors that means something special to you or is simply your favorite. Slapping a decal, like a racing number or logo, is cheap and easy but still lends a sense of personalization. Some people even design their own decals to add to their ATVs.

LED Lights

If you’re familiar with LED lights, you already know that they are more expensive than standard bulbs, but are also brighter and more energy efficient. They are perfect for ATV riders who often find themselves riding in darker conditions. Some people even create custom lighting setups to give them more peripheral vision or throw light farther out.

Windshields

If you frequently find yourself blasted by heavy winds during a ride, a windshield can majorly cut down on rider fatigue. Neither weather nor kicked-up debris can get through a good windshield, so consider adding one to your quad.

Tires

Most ATVs come with general-purpose tires. These tires are meant to function, if not excel, in a wide variety of regions and climates, allowing the rider to maintain control over the vehicle. However, if you know for certain that you will be riding on a particular terrain type on most of your rides, you may want to find ATV tires specialized for that environment. You’ll feel the difference from the moment you hit the trail.

Seating

On longer rides, comfortable seating is a must. There are many options when it comes to four-wheeler seating, including those that add a backrest or change the rider’s stance to be easier to maintain. Don’t forget that there are upgrades to make things more comfortable for your passengers as well!

Cargo Box

If you are using your ATV for any kind of utility work, a cargo box is a must-have. This storage upgrade makes transporting tools and supplies a breeze. Even if you are more of a trail rider, you will still appreciate the ability to store supplies, whether it’s your car keys or a meal, with greater ease.
